Sarah Jackson - Fall Break Trip

So I know I'm a little behind, fall break was weeks ago right. Well I decided that since Kevin touched on his fall break trip a little and I went to St. Simons, where Blake is from and wrote about earlier in the semester, it could be an interesting topic.

So Friday, I left with some freshmen (about 30) from CCF (Christian Campus Fellowship) around 5:30 to head down to St. Simons to stay at a friend's house. First, however, we made a stop in Savannah, GA. Savannah is a place I'm slightly more familiar with with than St. Simons but we really only stopped to get food and gas and be on our way. It really is an intriguing town, that I believes contradicts the idea of sprawl today, staying more true to its roots as a booming commercial city.

St. Simons, itself was pretty much amazing. But that probably had a lot to do with the fact it was a random weekend in the fall, not ideal beach time. As someone who has never been there before, it seemed like paradise because it was never crowded or high traffic. However, I have a feeling that come spring time, St. Simons undergoes the tragic transformation most beach towns experience. It becomes crowded and obnoxious like any other. It most defiantly transforms into the town sprawl has made it today.

Although I could write pages and pages about how much fun our group had, it might just seem interesting to me because I was there and experienced it and would probably bore you all to death. So instead I'm just going to share one great picture from the trip with you all,
