After our class last Monday, I decided to use the LexisNexis database to look for an article relating to our class. I found this one article called "Five Funky Neighborhoods Give Atlanta an Edge" from The Washington Post. Although not specifically related to our topic about sprawl, it did give a good background on some of Atlanta's most interesting neighborhoods, such as Cabbagetown, Castleberry Hill, East Atlanta Village, Little Five Points, and Poncey-Highland/Virginia-Highland. For Cabbagetown, the author described it as being an old neighborhood with a lot of history. Castleberry Hill was described as being very artistic and East Atlanta Village as being very musical. Little Five Points, on the other hand, was described as the "hip" neighborhood with lots of ink. The author expressed her opinion that Poncey-Highland and Virginia-Highland were the two very different personalities of Highland Ave. Virginia-Highland having the more mainstream feel, than its counterpart. All in all this article provided a lot of background into the different neighborhoods of Atlanta, GA.
